Auckland Transport for Children

I aim to create a companion application for the AT transport app. It will incorporate gamification and educational elements to help caregivers occupy children on public transport. It will be accessible for existing AT users through their app. Based in my favourite childhood world of Winnie the Pooh (A.A.Milne, 1926), the beloved characters will help kids learn basic skills through games. The educational aspect includes teaching numerical skills, matching exercises and learning to follow basic directions. The application will analyse the user's transport route and generate a game which takes them along the same route of pathways in the 100 Aker Wood. The user will receive journey updates throughout playing the game and their activity will conclude just before the user needs to get off of their bus or train. I hope to make the use of public transport more enjoyable for both children and parents by transporting them into a fantasy world.
